Rain drops outside my window

Mustard top: H&M

White lace block skirt: Gift from my sister

Today I woke up to the sound of rain drops outside my window, isnt that wonderful? I think that must be my preferred way of waking up (much better than an annoying alarm that doesnt seem to stop huh? jeje). I took advantage of this calm rainy day to relax and catch up on some activities I have been wanting to do like a craft project I’m doing.
Since its a rainy day, I was more than happy to make an outfit arround my cute floral rain boots! I’ve never had rain boots before, so I just cant get enough of them. I decided to bright up this rainy day by wearing mustard and royal blue together. I love how these colors look together, and the white skirt makes the whole outfit more clean and crisp.

After looking at this pictures, I feel that my outfit looks like a school girl enjoying a fall day… jeje although this wasnt my intention, I am very pleased with the results. This is the second time I wear these blue tights, and I’m loving them. I know they are way out there, but I feel chic and cool in them so thats what counts. I decided to pear these bright tights with a neutral outfit that wouldnt compete with them. I did decide, however, that I wanted to add a little turquoise somwhere else and what better way than tying a scarf to my purse? Very happy with the results indeed!

Today all the trees were Red, Orange, & Yellow! I saw the most beautiful trees today, I just couldnt help taking like 100 photos! As I said before, this is the first fall I have come to experience and its just beeaaautiful!
I also think its curious that today I find those trees when I am wearing almost the same colors! (with the exception of brown instead of red). I really like how the denim jacket makes the whole outfit more rich in color. I also decided to wear the scarf tied around my neck because I always feel so chic when I do. I’m loving fall & wearing the fall colors!
My caricature

.
Here is the caricature of me I got done at a special university event yesterday. I think I must be a hard person to draw because all the other caricatures I have of myself dont really look like me. I think this one looks a little more like me than the others, and he even drew me with yesterdays outfit and all!! Gotta love that!
.
So what do you think, does this look like me at all?

I had a wonderful day today! The day was bright and sunny and the fall trees were just gorgeous. This is the first time I ever see Fall since in Panama there is only summer and the rainy season. I think its beautiful the way the trees turn all shades of orange, yellow, and even red! Its so inspiring!
.
I decided to wear this happy outfit today because I really like the unexpected combo of coral and light blue together. But the real star of this outfit is my new plad closed toe pumps!!! I looooove them, and can you belive I got them at Walmart?! I havent taken them off all day… I could sleep with these babies on… jeje :)

I am very excited to post my first daily outfit picture today! Today I decided to wear a new color combo that I have been dying to try for some time now: Pink & Orange! I first saw this color combo in a JC Penny’s ad and thought, well that’s different! I liked it, but thought it was too “out there” to try myself; but then I saw this color combo everywhere! So I decided to give it a try, even though this pink looks sorda purply in the picture, and I am really happy with the results! I know its bright, but it made me feel cheerful all day to know that I tried something new and “out there”… jejeje.
My first post! Welcome to my fashion diary!
Hello everyone! This is my first post of many I hope. My name is Marie McGrath and I have always loved fashion. I am originaly from Panama in Central America, but I am currently living in the US to achieve my college degree in Business. I have loved fashion ever since I was a little girl. I was that little girl who would wear her big sisters elegant dresses and would strut around the house in high heel pumps that were like 100 sizes too big! jaja.
Fashion has always been an inspiration for me and its an essential part of my life. I like to dress my best each and everyday because each day is a new opportunity to find happiness and feel special. For this reason, I have decided to create this blog to share my ideas and opinions with others. I hope you all like my daily outfit pictures, my comments, my ideas, and so on. I am open to any suggestions or questions, so dont hesitate in contacting me at thejoyoffashion@hotmail.com
